English as a Second Languages (ESL) Courses:

Payment Information:

A non-refundable application fee of US$100.00 ($50.00 - if you apply for part-time ESL, Spanish and Foreign language courses) and a tuition deposit of $200.00 are required with your application. If you request hotel accommodations, a housing placement fee of $50 and a one-night deposit are also required with your application.

The Tuition Deposit is part of the cost of your course and is deducted from the total tuition fees. The tuition deposit is not an additional cost. Please note that your application will be considered only when your payment of the application fee and the tuition deposit has been received.

Upon receiving your application and your payment of the enrollment fees and the tuition deposit, we will send you a registration confirmation and invoice. Normally, it take 3 to 4 business days to process your application.

The payment of the balance of fees is due before the beginning of your classes (no later than 30 days before the beginning of the Intensive General English and Test Preparation courses and English courses for Executives and no later than 60 days before the beginning of the Summer Program for Children and the Whole family. Your place will be confirmed only when the full payment has been received. The full payment must be paid before we can issue documentation in support of B1/B2 visa application (official letter of acceptance for visa purposes) if requested. You may pay the balance by wire transfer, certified check or money order, or by credit card. We accept Visa and Mastercard.


Application Deadlines and Visa Information

Normally, we must receive your application no later than 30 days before the program starts. However, you can apply as far in advance as you wish. We also accept last minute applications. Please note that acceptance is subject to space availability.

Palm Beach Language Institute does not support student visas and does not issue I-20 SEVIS forms. Our programs are designed for students who are already in the U.S. and for international visitors coming to the U.S. for tourism or business and who want to combine their vacation or business plans with learning English. You can attend courses at our school on a Tourist Visa or Visa Waiver Program. We will be happy to send you an Official Invitation Letter for visa purposes.

Terms and Conditions of Enrollment

General

IPSA and Palm Beach Language Institute are not liable in any cases of force majeure (according to the law) or for actions of the students and their consequences.

Group Classes

Maximum 12, minimum 3 students. If there are two students in the class, the number of lessons is reduced to 15 semi-private General English morning lessons. If there is only one student in the class, the number of lessons is reduced to 10 private General English lessons a week. If there is only one student in the afternoon part of the Intensive Plus program, the number of afternoon lessons is reduced to 4 private private lessons. 1 lesson = 45 minutes.

Cancellation before the beginning of the classes

You must inform the office in writing. Any refunds will be made within 30 days of cancellation notification. Cancellation fees are charged as follows, and any balance is refunded less any bank charges and non-refundable items (application fee, housing placement fee, courier service fee):

Intensive General English, Test Preparation, Executive English and Private Courses:

  • If the course is cancelled more than 30 days before the course begins, the cancellation fee is charged in the amount of $200.00.

  • If the course is cancelled 30 days or less before the course begins, the cancellation fee is charged in the amount of $200.00 + 20% of the Tuition fee.

Summer English Courses for Children and the Whole Family:

  • If the course is cancelled more than 40 days before the course begins, the cancellation fee is charged in the amount of $200.00.

  • If the course is cancelled 40 or less days, but more than 28 days before the course begins, the cancellation fee is charged in the amount of $200.00 + 30% of the program fee (classes and activities).

  • Cancellations received 28 or less days before the course begins: cancellation fee in the amount of the full program fee (including any deposit).

Part-Time General English ESL, Spanish and foreign language courses:

  • If the course is cancelled more than 30 days before the course begins there is no any cancellation fee. We will make a full refund less non-refundable application fee.

  • If the course is cancelled 30 or less days, but more than 15 days before the course begins, the cancellation fee is charged in the amount of $100.00.

  • If the course is cancelled 15 days or less before the course begins, the cancellation fee is charged in the amount of $200.00.

In case of partial cancellation of the course, we reserve the right to charge 20% of the tuition fee for the cancelled portion of the course.

Hotel Accommodations:

  • If accommodation is cancelled less than 7 days before the arrival date (20 days during the period of January - April and November 19 - 25), the cancellation fee is charged in the amount of one-night deposit.

Cancellation after the course and/or lodging has started

In no case money will be refunded once the course and/or lodging has started. No refund can be given for partial attendance or the discontinuance or interruption of a course. Deposits and fees are not transferable from person to person. Students are advised to take out cancellation insurance with their local provider in case they need to cancel their courses while they are on the course.

Holidays

Should a national holiday fall on a class day, group class hours cannot be recovered, nor are they refundable. Private classes, however, will be rescheduled. It is the student's responsibility to find out when the school will be closed for national holidays. The school will do its best to inform the student of these holidays. A list of national holidays can be found on our website.

Persistent Misconduct

The School reserves the right to terminate without notice the course and accommodation of any student who persistently misconducts him/herself in classes or in a housing setting. Cancellation charges apply as above.
